World Record Attempt 10 Months, 1 Week ago Karma: 0
Hello All and I would like to get as much help as possible for this adventure.

I have been training for the past couple of years for this.

The attempt will be to walk the AT in 40 days or less atarting the end of april on 2010. I am working on the timeline and stops along the way as well as resupply.

I would love it if most of you will be able to make it to each location along the way.

Not sure where to start....lol... ok .. I will be heading out from Cadiz Ky the Last week of April heading GA and then to the trail... I know pretty Basic but if I am to do this I may have to travel Light, like 30-40 Lbs... At present I walk a 12 minute mile with 45Lbs on my Back.
What I am looking for is a good Pack and Tent... What I would like is for someone to doccument the time and date of every stop along the way.. With the way things have hit everyone I know that finances are tough on everyone so getting to the locations will be somewhat hard.
I am going to see what I can do to help raise money for the upkeep of the trail along the way... Any Ideas???.... I have been Training mostly on the weekends but right now am able to train every day... Lay-offs are a pain and a blessing in some cases.... I will be setting up a website over the next few days and hopefully everyone can stop by and give support....lol.. moral that is.... No looking for money or anything like that for myself... anything people can give should go directly to the ATC for Trail maintenance... if you would like to know more please feel free to ask specific questions... Have alot on my mind at the moment and with this Disaster Prep Seminar I am hosting in 3 weeks tons of things on my mind....lol

Howdy,

I would do a little more research on gear before heading out. You can easily carry around 25 pounds or so with four days worth of food.(That's what i carried in 2006 when I thru hiked.) As fast as you want to go I would shoot for much less. For a little extra money you could get down to fifteen pounds or so. Feel free to email me (greyfoxat@hotmail.com) and ask any questions about gear you need to!
