Hello all,

Glad to be here. Been hiking since I can remember so probably 20 of my 28 years. Cub Scouts, Boy Scouts (made Eagle in 1996), then 10 years in the Marine Corps Special Operations Community. Just got free from the government and got alot of plans to move forward. Right now I'm planning a winter thru hike of the Superior trail, and then I hope to start CDT in the spring. Retirement is sweet! Always looking for one more so, if your planning anything in the midwest or want to get in on what I listed above shoot me an email at jdsmerud@gmail.com and we'll get something together. Glad to have you on the site! I'd like to read some posts from your winter hike on here. Have you done the AT?
